Welcome to 2021!
We’ve all been looking forward to what the New Year might bring, but that doesn’t mean that 2020 wasn’t without its beauty and moments of joy. Let’s take a quick look back at some of those favorite moments, as shared by our guests on social media.
Looking through the #CorningMuseumOfGlass on Instagram, it was great to see people continue to be inspired by glass and it was difficult to narrow the field down to just nine of our favorite posts in 2020.
Despite the challenges we faced last year, visitors to the Museum were able to appreciate Dale Chihuly’s “Fern Green Tower,” our glassmaking demonstrations, and our architecture, among many other highlights. Folks could enjoy Pride both at home with Cat Burns‘ TikTok sensation Pumpkin of the Year and at the Museum with Tamas Abel’s “33” Rainbow.”
An impressive piece to behold, Dustin Yellin’s Cephaloproteus Riverhead (Four Hearts, Ten Brains, Blue Blood Drained through an Alembic), in our newly reinstalled Contemporary Art + Design Galleries, invited visitors to take a closer look.
Over at The Studio, visitors delighted in making their own glass and the colors of the Carder Gallery. And who could forget Penguin Pierre, our safety ambassador, who welcomed guests every day after our reopening?
