When visitors walk into the Curious and Curiouser: Surprising Finds from the Rakow Library exhibition they can’t miss the 9-foot tall “cloud” made from more than 700 colorful notes dangling near the entrance. This is the Inspiration Wall.
The exhibition team for Curious and Curiouser wanted to highlight the idea of “library as inspiration” for visitors to the exhibition. Just as many of the artists represented in the exhibition were inspired by visits to the Library, the Inspiration Wall invites guests to reflect on and share what inspires them.
Here are a few visitor inspirations that inspire us.
Some people are inspired by what they can see at the Museum.
Friends who blow glass together stay together. This card from a bachelorette party group reminds us that inspiration can come from hard places. Also, Sara proves you can skip Vegas for your next bachelor or bachelorette party. Come to Corning!
We don’t know much about Sloth Hopkins other than he has a really cool Facebook page and is inspired by museums, like us. Rock on, Sloth Hopkins!
Who isn’t inspired by a smile? (Translation: Smile at the world and the world will smile at you.)
This card reads like a poem:
Light. Air. Feeling the dirt in my hands, beneath my toes. Holding my babies. Hearing their soft hearts beating. Warm breath on my neck. Little sticky hands around my chest. Cool breezes. Falling leaves. Blowing snow. Budding blooms. Changes. New starts. Subtle endings. Being needed. Being loved. Needing. Loving.
Let us know in the comments what inspires you!
