Object of the Week: Ribbed Bowl

Ribbed Bowl, Roman Empire, possibly Italy, possibly Eastern Mediterranean, 1-99. Gift of The Ruth Bryan Strauss Memorial Foundation. 79.1.39.

Blown in a two-piece mold, this shallow bowl features a band of 109 vertical ribs that extend from the shoulder to a horizontal rib.
